Antelope Canyon is a remarkable eroded sandstone area located in northern Arizona, near the border with Utah. Beautiful chambers, some almost 50 feet deep, have been carved through the sandstone by rainwater during the monsoon seasons. When skies are clear, beautiful shafts of light often illuminate the chambers. California-based photographer Matt Walker captured his own variation of the phenomenon by asking his guide to pour sand down through an opening. The resulting sand stream blurred nicely in the long exposure and Mr. Walker’s son, Skye, said it looked like a Sand Spirit.” One hopes for good spirits.
