Yosemite’s been in the news lately. Smoke from wildfires has obscured views, and the threat of fire required closure of some important roads going to the national park, wrecking the late-summer tourist business. The Rim Fire scorched the record books when it became the fourth-largest wildfire in California history.
The National Interagency Fire Center predicts “significant fire potential” for the central mountains of California well into October, and everyone is ready for an early snowstorm.
