Cars Land Rides Your Kids Will Love
Cars Land officially opens on June 15, 2012, at the Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort. If you're taking the kids to Disneyland this summer, you won't want to miss out on some of the fun new rides and attractions at the park! Cars Land is a new themed land at Disneyland and is one of many new areas developed as part of the resort's grand expansion. Fans of Disney's "Cars" will now have the chance to explore the real-life town of Radiator Springs and meet their favorite characters.
Here are some of the Cars Land rides your kids are sure to love:
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree
Perfect for younger Disney enthusiasts, this collection of baby tractors pulling junkyard carts of guests is a fun way to start off your adventure in Cars Land. Mater's Junkyard is located right on the outskirts of the town of Radiator Springs so you'll head here first as you pull up from Route 66. Jump aboard a tractor for a spin and enjoy the view!
Luigi's Flying Tires
Buckle up tight in an oversized radial tire and be prepared to glide, spin, and lift you and your fellow riders off the ground in this fun ride! Luigi's Flying Tires are set upon a platform of air compressors and feels a lot like a bumper car ride. You'll get to float, spin and "fly" across the platform as you bump into other riders. The ride is located right behind Luigi's Casa Della Tires.
Radiator Springs Racers
Bound to be the most popular ride in Cars Land, the Radiator Springs Racers experience will give you a chance to zoom down the paved streets nestled within the red-rock formations of Ornament Valley. Guests are seated in a car to zip down the paved roads at high speeds. It's the ultimate racing experience for race-car fans and ends with a side-by-side race against another car!
Cars Land is one of several new additions to the Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort and is part of a five-year expansion effort. Kids, teens and adults alike will find plenty of fun and interesting things to do in Cars Land. Don't miss the chance to eat at the retro diner on Route 66 and pick up some "Cars" themed vinylmation, license plate frames, and other souvenirs during your trip!
