Beach in France Bans Selfie Photos...What's a Travel Bragger to Do?

What’s the best thing about a great beach vacation?
The selfie you take to make everyone stuck at home jealous, of course.
But a beach in France is saying no to today’s self-indulgent picture-taking culture by banning selfies, reports the Daily Mail.
Garoupe, a beach located in Southern France, has partnered with mobile network Three to create an anti-holiday spam area, patrolled by the Holiday Spam Police this August, the beach’s peak holiday season. The beach even posted signs in the two designated “No Braggies Zones.”
Examples of “braggies” include showing off new designer clothing and vacation photos meant to inspire jealousy from others.

While only two sections of the popular beach will be affected by the ban, a spokesperson for the beach told the Mail they will be taking it seriously:
“The Garoupe beaches are among the most glamorous and pristine beaches in all of France and we want people to be able to enjoy our exclusive beach in the moment, not spending the majority of their time bragging to their friends and family back home.”

The beach enacted the policy after research revealed that a third of British travelers say bragging about their vacation was one of their favorite holiday activities, according to the Mail.
So say goodbye to hot dog legs, bikini shots, sandy beach toes, and enviably romantic sunsets.
