Get Up Close With the Locals on This Traveler's Blog

Georgia Hopkins is a prolific traveler, but she seems to be even better at making friends. That’s an impression we get from reading her blog, It’s Beautiful Here. Hopkins is a Melbourne, Australia native who has spent the past two years globetrotting, and the result is a well-designed blog full of her Instagram-friendly photos and recommendations – all with the goal of inspiring a kind of travel that is, as she told us, “not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.”

What sets the blog apart from other first-person travelogues is that Hopkins also profiles a local in every city she visits – it’s a human touch that shows that she’s immersing herself in much more than just pretty beaches and restaurants.

Where is she headed next? As she tells Yahoo Travel, “After eight months on the road – from Melbourne to Milan and all things European in between – it is exciting to be back on California soil, and we are looking forward to upcoming fall trips through upstate New York, and Sante Fe, New Mexico.”
