  Braves' Arcia headed to IL with microfracture in left wrist

  Atlanta Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia is headed to the injured list after tests on Thursday revealed a microfracture in his left wrist. Arcia suffered the injury in Wednesday night's 5-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Arcia was hit on the wrist by a 97 mph fastball from Reds right-hander Hunter Greene in the second inning.

  Braves RHP Ian Anderson to have season-ending surgery

  Right-hander Ian Anderson, who won 10 games for the Atlanta Braves last season after playing a key role in their 2021 World Series championship, will have Tommy John surgery and miss the remainder of the season. Following the start with Gwinnett, tests showed Anderson has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
