It doesn't hurt that Stapleton's working again with Dave Cobb, a producer who seems incapable of musical missteps himself. Guy Clark, Grammy-Winning Singer-Songwriter, Dies at 74
Guy Clark, Grammy-winning musician, died in Nashville on Tuesday. The musician was born in Monahans, Texas, in 1941 and after several years spent working odd jobs and moving around the country while playing music on the weekends, he settled in Nashville and wrote a string of songs that became his first hit record, “Old No. 1,” with RCA in 1975. As a songwriter, he composed songs performed by Johnny Cash, Ricky Skaggs, Bobby Bare and Vince Gill.
