King Crimson and ELP's Greg Lake dies at 69
Greg Lake, who sang and played bass and guitar in the influential prog-rock band Emerson, Lake & Palmer, died Wednesday. He was 69. Lake's manager confirmed the news Thursday, telling the BBC that the musician had succumbed after "a long and stubborn battle with cancer." His death follows bandmate Keith Emerson's, who died in March, by less than a year. Greg Lake, Prog-Rock Legend of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Dead at 69
Greg Lake, the progressive rock icon best known as a member of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, has died at the age of 69. “Greg Lake will stay in my heart for ever, as he has always been,” Young added in a Facebook post. Lake first shot to fame as a member of King Crimson in the late ’60s.
