YouTube TV went down in the middle of the World Cup
Talk about bad timing.
YouTube TV, the live-TV streaming service from YouTube, just went down — right in the middle of the World Cup semi-final England versus Croatia match.

According to the YouTube TV Twitter account, the service is having "streaming issues."
Hey everyone — sincere apologies for streaming issues with YouTube TV. The timing is horrible but we're working to be up and running again ASAP!
— YouTube TV (@YouTubeTV) July 11, 2018
DownDetector suggests that those issues are limited to the United States. In other words, everyone at their desk trying to secretly watch the game is SOL.

Those counting on YouTube TV are understandably frustrated.
I started the free trial of YouTube TV just to watch the World Cup, so this isn't ideal https://t.co/blBYstEUYI

In the middle of watching Croatia v England and @YouTubeTV decided to stop working. Awesome.

ETA on when service will be back? Missing out on the England World Cup game and not happy about it :c

But hey, maybe there's a silver lining? If YouTube TV doesn't come back online before the game is over, you won't have to see your team lose.
UPDATE: July 11, 2018, 1:08 p.m. PDT: According to YouTube TV, service has been restored.
And we're back! Enjoy the rest of #ENGCRO by going to https://t.co/DYqXd9XXAr.
We are so sorry about the service interruption and we understand your frustration. If you continue to experience issues let @TeamYouTube know.— YouTube TV (@YouTubeTV) July 11, 2018
