Great Gift: Turn a Phone into a Wallet

You don’t have to spend a fortune to buy nice tech gifts. There are joy and glad tidings to be had in reasonably priced gadgets, too. Leave it to David Pogue to sniff out 12 delightful and useful gifts.

The Second Day of Techness

Thanks to Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and the like, we may someday use our phones to pay for things, instead of using credit cards. But today, we’re only halfway there. The time is right for Wally, the $40 stick-on leather card envelope for the back of your phone. The adhesive is remarkable — super strong, but you can also peel it and re-stick it.

Holds about three cards and some cash. You pull a little tab to make the cards pop out for easy grabbing. Over time, it can stretch if you moisten it, so it’ll hold more.

Or get a Wally that’s a full phone case, too ($50, available for different models). Really nicely done.
