Hotter temperatures mean it’s cooler season. We’re camping out, having picnics in parks, and hitting the beaches and lakes with our favorite snacks and drinks in tow. A loaded cooler isn’t the most comfortable to carry, though, and while we appreciate the on-the-go capabilities of backpack coolers, a hard cooler with wheels is sometimes preferred, which is why we’re excited to see Yeti’s newest addition to their lineup—the Roadie 32.

Yeti’s Roadie coolers have excellent insulation, are virtually indestructible, and are easily transportable thanks to their oversized wheels. The larger roadies are great for camping, but this new size is perfect for day trips and weekend hangouts. The 32-quart capacity pack is just the size to take on Saturday morning soccer games and afternoon barbecues. I spoke with Samara Robbins, senior product manager at Yeti, who says the Roadie 32 puts portability and ease of use at the forefront and is backed by the brand’s commitment to durability and insulation.

“The telescopic handle has four stages instead of just two like the larger Roadies,” she says. “We made it shorter and more shallow to fit in smaller cars like sedan trunks or small hatchbacks.” The Roadie 32 still has oversized wheels that can traverse any terrain and is tall enough to fit standard wine bottles. It also comes with a dry basket to organize food or snacks and keep them easily accessible on top.

The Roadie line isn’t roto-molded but the injection molding still produces sturdy walls packed with 3 inches of insulation. The latches can be opened with one hand and integrated handles on the sides make it easier to lift in and out of truck beds or trunks. I’ve used the Roadie 24 and the Roadie 48 and am excited to see the 32 as a Goldilocks-sized cooler that adds the wonder of wheels.

The Roadie 24 has a strap for carrying but can be heavy to haul down the beach, and the Roadie 48 is overkill if it’s just a couple of friends and me. The Roadie 32 is about to be my summer companion, whether it’s joining me at Rockaway Beach, or taking it to park days with my nephew and nieces.
