Get ready for a new set of politically correct emoji this fall.
Apple is taking a stand with some of the new characters they are releasing for its iOS 10 update.
A green and orange water pistol will replace the controversial revolver symbol, sending a strong message on gun control.
The LGBT community gets some representation with a rainbow flag, and single parents score some new characters of their own.
The company said it is “working closely with the Unicode Consortium to ensure that popular emoji characters reflect the diversity of people everywhere.”
There are also a lot more female characters to choose from. In the career category you’ll see construction workers, private investigators, and doctors.
In athletics you’ll see female bodybuilders, swimmers, and mountain bikers.
