Young Girl Saves Father's Life with Emergency Facebook Post

Who would have thought we’d ever be saying this, but: Facebook to the rescue!

When a violent storm earlier this June caused a tree to fall on the porch of her West Virginia home, 10-year-old Brianna Vance witnessed her father get hurt badly. And since cell service in her area was also knocked out, she had to craft a way to call for help, and quickly.

Brianna raced to put together an SOS video post on Facebook after she realized her home’s WiFi connection was still up and running, reports ABC News.

“The lightning crashed and hit a tree by our porch and my dad’s almost dead. He needs an ambulance, please,” she pleaded. “Please call one for us if you have a signal. We live in a yellow house.”

Someone saw her post, made the 911 call, and a rescue crew made its way to her house to save her father’s life. Briannas father was admitted to a local hospital, where he was released after receiving treatment.

Her dad was on the mend just in time for Fathers Day, when Brianna wished the “best dad I could ever ask for” to get well soon.

A near tragedy turned happy ending, all thanks to a fast-thinking girl with social media wherewithal.
