Watch Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket land in this incredible video

Back in November, Jeff Bezos and his private space flight company Blue Origin blew us all away by completing the first ever reusable rocket landing. New Shepard, as the rocket is called, successfully landed once again last month, but this past weekend, Blue Origin released a never-before-seen video of the landing from the rocket’s point of view.

As Blue Origin explains, the video has been sped up to capture the entire landing in a single Vine:

This probably isn’t the first footage you’ve seen of the landing, but it’s likely the most impressive. What’s so fascinating about this new venture in private space flight is that we get to be there every step of the way, whether it’s to witness the flaming wrecks of near misses or the triumphant cheers of the successes.

SpaceX landed a rocket of its own in December, so despite the fact that the Amazon CEO beat Elon Musk to the punch, it’s clear that this is a very close race between those at the top. We can only hope that 2016 results in just as many incredible videos as we were lucky enough to witness in 2015. Even if they do result in massive explosions.

Here’s the original video of the New Shepard landing (again), in case you missed it:
