You may never get the privilege of seeing the Earth from space, but satellite imagery is the next best thing. Thanks to the latest update to Google Earth, you can see something that no astronaut could ever see from the void: the Earth from space as it flips from the past to the present day in mere seconds.

Google Earth first introduced this timelapse view back in 2013 complete with data from 1984 to 2012. Now, thanks to a new update, it also includes data up to 2016 as well as sharper views of years past. All this means there's no better time to boot it up in a browser and see what you can see.
