How to Watch Apple's iPhone 7 Event
We've still got a few more hours before we find out whether Apple's latest iPhones are marvelous or meh. But you'll at least get the chance to see with your very own eyes, thanks to Apple's live stream of its Sept. 7 press event in San Francisco.
You can find the live stream on Apple's website or on the Apple Events channel on your Apple TV. The stream begins at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on Sept. 7, just as Tim Cook takes the stage at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
Just one word of warning before you tune in: you'll need the proper hardware that supports Apple's HTTP Live Streaming technology to view the feed. For mobile devices, that means an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 7 or later. Mac users will need Safari 6.0.5 or later, while PC users can turn to Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. The stream works on any second-generation or later Apple TV that's running the 6.2 version of the software.

When you tune in, you can expect to hear about Apple's latest iPhones, which look likely to retain the design of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus while dropping the headphone jack. The new phones could also adopt the True Tone display technology found on the iPad Pro while also become more water-resistant. Look for other internal improvements like a new processor and possibly more storage on the base model.
You'll need software to run on that new iPhone, and Apple should announce a release date for iOS 10. Apple previewed the new mobile operating system in June, and the public beta of iOS 10 is already out in the wild.
The next Apple Watch also figures to make its debut at the Sept. 7 event, with Apple reportedly adding built-in GPS, a faster processor, and a barometer. We expect improvements to the battery as well. With both Asus and Samsung announcing new versions of their smartwatches last week, the pressure's on Apple to keep pace.
Rumors are circulating that Apple will refresh its laptop lineup, but the new MacBooks may not appear at this press event. Nevertheless, we could still get a release date for macOS Sierra, the update to the Mac operating system that Apple's already previewed.
