Walmart's Black Friday ad for 2018 is finally here: A lot of toys, plus gaming gear, Instant Pots, and iPads

Nov. 1st is unofficially the start of gifting madness, and the biggest players in the online shopping game did not hesitate to throw their massive Black Friday ads our way. Thanks to our sidekicks at BlackFriday.com, we were able to hop on 2018 ad scans from Target, Kohl's, and Macy's right when they were released. Walmart stayed behind to lurk in the shadows and keep us waiting — and then naturally, dropped the ad scan at midnight.

Walmart has been referring to themselves (and rightfully so) as America's Best Toy Shop this year, so we assumed that the 2018 Black Friday ad would be full of mostly toys with not much else — we were wrong. This thing is full of deals on tech toys for adults too and we are psyched.

Chosen by kids for kids, Walmart's ad is bursting with 2018's hottest toys. There's the classic stuff like Hot Wheels and Disney princesses, and there's the new stuff like hoverboards and Hatchimals — whatever those are. We don't need to understand it, all that matters is that your kids will scream with delight when they open it.

But the most pleasant surprise was not only a plethora of tech stuff in general, but a lot of unique items we haven't been seeing in other ad scans: Gaming consoles and laptops, VR headsets, iPads, the Instant Pot Lux, Bose headphones, and more, plus your expected bath stuff, home stuff, and tools.

Here are a few of the best deals, but you can flip through the 36 pages of madness (in a good way) here. According to the ad, online deals start on Nov. 21 at 10 p.m. EST.

6-in-1 Instant Pot Lux80, 8-quart — $59 (regular price $99)

This is a unique one — most big retailers wouldn't be caught dead without having the Instant Pot on sale, but Walmart is the only place we've seen reducing the price of the eight-quart Lux instead of the six-quart Duo. The Lux can do everything the Duo can except make yogurt, so unless you or the foodie you're gifting to is really going to be making a lot of yogurt, this is a rare chance to snag a big eight-quart Instant Pot for this cheap. Save $40 and gift it for $59.

HP Pavilion 15.6-inch gaming laptop — $599 (regular price $829)

A toy for adults of sorts: This badass HP Pavilion gaming laptop features a huge 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 FHD thin bezel display, assisted with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics for life-like accuracy in games and a 8th gen Intel Core i5+ 8300H processor to keep things moving and prevent lag. Complete with a colorful backlit keyboard to make all-night playing possible, any gamer on your list will be psyched. Save $230 and gift it for $529.99.

2018 Apple iPad — $249 (regular price $329)

Getting inducted onto Team iPad truly has never been cheaper. In March 2018, Apple announced an education-focused iPad that would just be called "iPad" coming in at the most affordable iPad price yet. It's the first non-Pro model to support the stellar Apple Pencil, making it ideal for creative professionals and kids alike. With an upgraded camera, faster processor, and A10 fusion chip, the new iPad also works with AR kit apps. Regularly an already-cheap $329, you can save $80 and gift it for $249.

Nintendo Switch Mario Kart Bundle — $299 (regular price $389.99)

Let's a-go: If there's one video game that everyone knows how to play, it's Mario Kart. Gamers who (somehow) don't have a Switch yet will be stoked about this, but it's also a great gift for literally almost anyone. With the ability to switch from a handheld to two joysticks for multiplay, your giftee is never gonna be bored again. Save $90 and gift if for $299. (The regular price of a Switch is $299, so this is essentially getting the newest Mario Kart for free.)

Hover-1 Liberty Hoverboard — $99 (regular price $198)

Yup, these things are still popular — you have to admit, they look fun. Clearly the best hoverboard Walmart has to offer (as it's currently sold out), the Hover-1 Liberty Hoverboard features two driver monitors that can be controlled separately or with both feet for smooth turns and breaking. With an IPX4 water resistance rating, it'll be safe if the kid on your list gets stuck in the rain or rolls through a puddle, and the LED lights on the side ensure street cred. Save $99 and gift it for $99.
