Vittoria tires has revealed its latest additions to its mountain bike tires range – The Mostro. The renowned Italian tire manufacturers say its two new models that are named the Mostro Enduro Race and the Mostro Enduro, are designed to be the "gravity mountain bikers' tire of choice and come ready to meet the demands of the UCI Mountain Bike World Series' toughest tracks."

Vittoria has spent over a year developing and testing both tires alongside the Commençal ICStudio downhill team and also the Abetone Ancillotti Vittoria enduro pro team. The tires will also make their first Whoop World Series Downhill MTB appearance this weekend in Fort William, as the world's best downhill mountain bike riders head to Scotland for Round One at the iconic downhill venue.

We've tested many of the Vittoria range here at Bike Perfect, and the Mostro joins the brand's other models like the Vittoria Mazza, the Mezcal, and the Barzo, that have been highly rated by our test team.

All-new tread design

Both versions of the Mostro are claimed to boast a groundbreaking tread design engineered to deliver speed and control. They feature a new V-formation tread pattern with are alternating mid and center lugs with pronounced trailing edges, aimed to give stability on a variety of surfaces and enhanced braking stability.

The tread profile has a "progressive siping and surface-stepped technology" which apparently enhances traction and cornering, and will deliver rapid acceleration.

Mostro Enduro Race and Mostro Enduro also use Vitorria's tubeless-ready technology with a foldable bead for easy inflation and dependable air retention.

Mostro Enduro Race

Mostro Race is engineered using Vittoria's new Race Formulation technology – which is a single, soft rubber compound powered by Graphene and Silica, adding to the claimed speed and grip performance. It is applied on a 60 TPI multi-layer casing and is claimed to have race-tuned durability and abrasion resistance.

Additional puncture protection is provided by a bead-to-bead Reinforcement Layer placed in the lower part of the casing, and an anti-puncture belt in the upper part of the casing. They also have a Sidewall Stability Insert to protect the tire from rim strikes and give additional sidewall support.

Mostro Enduro

Mostro Enduro uses an advanced 4Compound technology featuring four optimized rubber compounds designed to give what they say is "an unmatched blend of speed, grip, and durability". This model has a 2-ply 120 TPI nylon casing for resistance to abrasion and punctures. It also features the same Sidewall Stability Insert feature as the Enduro Race version.
