Unity Christian School going green with new solar panels

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — One Central Illinois school is finding a way to move forward with their newly-installed solar panels.

Unity Christian School in Decatur is taking the next step to reducing their carbon footprint. These new panels will provide a hands-on learning experience for students. They’re the first school in Decatur with several solar panels.

Executive Leader Brian Booth said they’re one step closer to going green.

“As a private Christian school, there’s challenges with figuring out how to be financially sustainable. So this is a big step in helping us do that for the future.”

The school is continuing to look at other possibilities of going solar. Right now, they’re investigating another project.
