Ultimate cosplay: Friends dress in ‘Mario Kart’ outfits, race scooters inside a mall

We’ve seen lots of images of cosplayers dressed as their favorite video game characters in the past but how many of them have actually tried to live out the action inside the game? A viral video posted by YouTuber Base37 shows a group of friends who dress up as popular characters from Mario Kart and then actually race scooters through a shopping mall right as it’s opening.

The friends don’t just race each other either — they try to sabotage each other in classic Mario Kart fashion by tossing bananas at each other’s wheels. As you can imagine, mall security wasn’t too pleased with having a bunch of people dressed as Mario, Princess Toadstool and King Koopa racing each other, although they weren’t able to stop them during the actual race. At the end of the video, we do see the Mario Karters get pulled over by police as they’re trying to drive away from the mall in their van.
