Uber will soon let riders catch shuttles to Chicago airports, events

CHICAGO — Uber is launching a new shuttle service for riders to reach their destination.

Launching this summer in select cities, including Chicago, Uber Shuttle will let customers book up to five seats for less than the price of a regular Uber ride to city airports and events.

Surge pricing will not affect the cost, and riders can pre-book their seats up to seven days in advance.

Riders can also track shuttles.

As for the vehicles being used as shuttles, Uber plans to partner with local shuttle companies that have commercially-licensed drivers.

How to book a Shuttle trip

Drivers must select the ‘Shuttle’ option in the Uber app. The travel service allows Uber-goers to review fares and select preferred routes and pick-up times before requesting a ride.

Uber Shuttle will pick up and drop off riders at their designated locations. Per usual, users can rate and tip drivers in the Uber app.
