Tim Cook: Next year’s product launches will take place in new Apple HQ

While most of Apple’s March 21 event was devoted to small stuff — the new 4-inch iPhone SE and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro — one bit of news was decidedly large.

At the end of the day’s presentation, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced — with a slight catch in his voice — that this would be the last launch event the company would hold in its old Town Hall headquarters. Next year, Cook promised, we’d be meeting in Apple’s new extra-large campus (dubbed the “Spaceship” by some because of its resemblance to a ginormous flying saucer).

No word yet from even the best Apple rumormongers whether the products presented then will match the scope of the new venue.
