This Tumblr Is a Museum of Glorious, Gluten-Free Art

There are few things more unjust than a gluten-free individual who’s forced to gaze at the tempting curves of a wheat-filled burger bun. Which is why a new Tumblr called the Gluten Free Museum may very well be the website that brings us world peace.

First spotted by the Daily Dot, the French-made site features side by sides of classic objets d’art. On the left, the original famous image on the wrong side of gluten history, flaunting items containing wheat, barely, and rye. On the right, a wonderful new rendition of that piece, stripped of all that is evil in the eyes of celiacs and God.

The proprietor of this fine establishment have taken it upon him or herself to correct the most famous scenes of our cultural past, ranging from Sennedjem’s early Egyptian etches, to the dramatic Baroque paintings of Italian artist Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio’s, to the surrealist works of Salvador Dali.

The site also wanders into the realm of pop culture, editing famous scenes like the disgusting spaghetti kiss in Walt Disney’s Lady and the Tramp and the infamous Big Kahuna Burger murder scene in Pulp Fiction. (Fact: there would’ve been no deaths in that movie had gluten been entirely removed from the equation).

While we applaud the creator of this Tumblr for his or her charitable creations, we can’t help but point out that she missed some excellent pun opportunities, including—but not limited to—The Wheatney. Or, the Uenheim (a true g-free establishment). Nevertheless, below are some highlights from the gallery. Remember: we will not have won this war until we photoshop kale where the wheat once was.
