This Dad Used a Drone to Follow His Daughter to School

One dad has singlehandedly brought new meaning to the term ‘helicopter parent.’

Per a report from WVLT Local 8 news, Knoxville, Tennessee resident and pretty chill dad Chris Early turned to a creative solution when his 8-year-old daughter Katie asked to walk to school alone. The “techie” whipped out his beloved drone and flew it above her, watching video surveillance of Katie’s journey.

Describing the experiment to WVLT, he said he saw her fellow classmates looking up and pointing at the unmanned aircraft.

“I’m sure Katie was just like, ‘Oh it’s just my dad!‘” he told the WVLT newscaster casually, describing the gesture as a “fun” way to let her know that “daddy’s always watching.”

Asked how she felt about the event, Katie had this to say:

“I was like ‘uh, wow.'”

Godspeed, Katie. Godspeed.
