This Lovely Short Film Is Set Within a Text Message

These days, most relationships begin and end with a text message — an omnipresent 21st century truth expertly encapsulated in Laurence and Jessica Jacobs’ 11-minute short “Life In Text.”

The film follows a twentysomething dude as he reminisces about a lost relationship, starting with the painful messages that bubbled up in the aftermath of his breakup, all the way back to the first time he met his girlfriend at a party. In between, the protagonist dances with life-size emoji (!) and gazes at old photos of his ex and her grandma "bubby." It’s an accurate, bittersweet commentary on the lasting digital print of modern-day relationships and definitely worth a watch.
