Seamless geographic navigation for all!

Google released a new version of its Maps website for all users Wednesday. The update was technically released for people to preview last year in May, but the redesigned Google Maps will now be the default desktop experience for everyone.

What’s new? Now you’ll be able to add multiple locations when searching for directions, find cyclist-friendly routes, switch to Google Earth view with one click, take photo tours of famous landmarks and businesses, and more. Overall, this version of Google Maps was designed to help you get where you want to go more efficiently and maybe even help you discover some new places in the process.

Best of all, Google has brought back Pegman in a big way. You can click the Google Maps mascot to see street-level photo views of many locations within Google Maps.

You should be seeing the new Google Maps in your browser at http://maps.google.com. If your version hasn’t updated on its own yet, then you can get the new version by clicking here.
