The first dog activity monitor to become available in Apple retail stores in the U.S. and Canada has hit the shelves at a reduced price, increasing availability of the device for the nearly 68 percent of U.S. households with a pet.

Along with the retail availability, Whistle has announced two new features for the system, which include a new If This Than That (IFTTT) channel and advanced medication reminders.

Equipped with sensors that capture activity and rest including playing, swimming, and running, the monitor attaches to the dog’s collar. Data is transferred to the corresponding app, which provides the dog’s owner a visual perspective on its day.

The price is now $99, reduced from $129.

Earlier this year, the company unveiled WhistleGPS, a similar activity tracker that has the added benefit of a GPS locator so that you never lose your dog. The service costs $5 per month.

The WhistleGPS can be preordered for $129, and shipping is expected this summer.
