Train carrying GOP lawmakers hits truck; 1 person dead
An Amtrak train carrying Republican members of Congress to an annual retreat hit a truck in Virginia on Wednesday. One person traveling in the truck reportedly died and two others were injured. None of the train passengers were believed to be seriously injured.

Deadly train collision in southern Italy
Firefighters in southern Italy say at least a dozen people have been killed when two trains collided head-on in Puglia.The trains, each with four cars, collided near the town of Andria on a line with just a single track, according to news agency ANSA and Sky TG24.A photo of the crash showed cars crumpled together and forced off the tracks at sharp angles. A late-night passenger train slammed at high speed into a slow-moving freight train in eastern Belgium, killing three people and sending nine others to the hospital, authorities said Monday. Two cars from the passenger train derailed when it rear-ended the freight train around 11 p.m. Sunday in Hermalle-Sous-Huy, a hamlet on the Meuse River.
