StreamSaver: Buy Peacock and Apple TV+, Get Netflix Free (Basically)

You may not have liked the name of the new Netflix, Peacock, and Apple TV+ bundle, which is called StreamSaver, but perhaps the price is more enticing.

On Tuesday, Comcast announced its Xfinity StreamSaver will cost $15 per month. It is a savings of about 35 percent per month vs. subscribing to each of the three streaming-video services individually. (Apple TV+ costs $9.99, and is ad-free; ad-supported Peacock is $5.99 per month and ad-supported Netflix is $6.99 per month.)

We’re choosing to look at it as buying Apple TV+ and Peacock Premium, and getting Netflix for free — but it’s actually still a dollar less than that. Over the course of a year, StreamSaver will stream-save you nearly $100.

StreamSaver launches next week — but it’s only for Comcast customers. Xfinity StreamSaver is only available to Xfinity Internet and TV customers. That isn’t quite as limiting as it sounds considering Comcast is the largest broadband provider in the U.S. — but it certainly isn’t available to everyone. Those in Comcast territories can also combine StreamSaver with its NOW TV for one all-in-monthly price of $30; it’s called the NOW StreamSaver bundle.

Bundles on bundles.

NOW TV carries more than 40 live TV channels. including AMC, A&E, Hallmark, History Channel, Lifetime, WEtv, plus over two dozen integrated FAST channels like AccuWeather, NBC News, TODAY All Day, and Xumo Movies.

“StreamSaver is a home run for consumers who want top-tier entertainment and live sports, and for our world-class partners Peacock, Netflix and Apple who benefit from the reach and depth of our entertainment platforms and Xfinity’s marketing engine,” said Dave Watson, CEO of Connectivity and Platforms, Comcast. “StreamSaver also reinforces the value of our broadband products, offering customers new ways to save money on streaming entertainment via the nation’s best and most reliable network in and out of the home.”

Streaming bundles are all the rage these days. There’s StreamSaver for Comcast customers and a Netflix/Max bundle for Verizon Wireless myPlan members. There’s also a Disney+, Hulu, and Max bundle coming this summer, and in the fall there will be a joint-venture sports-streaming service, Venu, from Warner Bros. Discovery, Disney, and Fox; we do not yet have prices for those two.

Bundles, as Disney has learned from its own Duo bundle (Disney+ and Hulu) and Trio bundle (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+) are among the best ways to reduce churn — a user canceling their streaming membership.
