There are still two big problems with Apple’s iPhones, but the iPhone 7 will solve one of them
Users of Apple's iPhones are generally among the most satisfied smartphone users in the world. Study after study has shown high satisfaction rates and low defection rates among iPhone owners, who point to sleek smartphone designs, reliable software, a smooth user experience and best-in-class customer service as reasons for sticking with the iPhone.
Of course, nothing is perfect and users also have some serious complaints about Apple's smartphone lineup. Two pain points in particular always seem to rise to the top of the pile, but a new leak reinforces the notion that Apple plans to address one of them with this year's new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Ask just about any iPhone user what his or her two biggest complaints are and you'll consistently hear the same two issues. One is battery life, which is often iPhone owners' biggest beef. Apple keeps making its iPhones thinner and thinner, but meanwhile just about every iPhone user on the planet will insist that he or she would gladly take an iPhone that's a bit thicker if it meant better battery life.
Of course, you know as well as we do that Apple isn't going to start making thicker iPhones anytime soon. Design is one of Apple's top priorities, so battery technology will need to improve before iPhones offer substantially better performance in this key area.
A close second to the battery life qualm is storage capacity. Every iPhone user knows the pain of that dreaded "not enough storage" error when one tries to capture a new photo or video on a phone that's already stuffed to the gills. There is absolutely no chance that Apple will add microSD support to its iPhones anytime soon since that would cause its iPhone ASPs to take a massive hit. But a new leak reinforces earlier claims that Apple will finally address the storage capacity issue this year.
According to a series of tweets posted by Twitter user The Malignant, this year's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will offer users at every tier twice as much storage space. The leak, which comes from an unnamed source and was reportedly taken from an official price sheet at a Chinese electronics wholesaler, says that Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come in three sizes: 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Apple's current iPhone lineup starts at 16GB and then jumps to 64GB for the mid-range models before topping out at 128GB. Many iPhone users don't want to spend the extra cash on pricier iPhones, so they're stuck with just 16GB of storage space. As we all know, that space disappears rather quickly.
Just yesterday, Apple sent out media invitations to its big iPhone 7 unveiling on September 7th. The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to be made available for preorder two short days later on September 9th, before going on sale on Friday, September 16th.
