You can still buy Apple’s AirPods in time for Christmas, for a price

Apple finally started selling the AirPods wireless headphones earlier this week, but there’s no point getting excited about finding a pair in stores for Christmas. Apple already ran out of its first batch of AirPods, and the device is significantly delayed.

Most people won’t be able to buy their AirPods until 2017, and Apple will be missing out on the huge holiday shopping sprees. But those of you determined to get the headphones in time for Christmas still have a chance: You can go to eBay and buy a pair right now, but be ready for exorbitant prices.

If you thought $159.99 was already a high asking price for the AirPods, then you’ll probably not want to spend as much as $2,000 on a pair just so you can use them right now, or put them under someone’s Christmas tree.

But if money is no object to you, then all you need to do is go to eBay and find your AirPods.

“These are brand new from Apple and will be shipped to you overnight the moment they arrive,” one eBay seller, who’s asking $2,000 for his or her AirPods, explains on eBay. “Why am I asking so much for them…. because I really don’t want to sell them. But if you really want them by Christmas and you are willing to pay this much, then I will sell them. Really, I’m just being honest.”

Like this listing, you’ll find various others on eBay, with prices starting at over $159. Mind you, these are auctions, which means those people that desperately need an AirPods pair this Christmas will likely try to outbid you.

Then again, you’ve already been waiting so long for the AirPods to arrive, what’s a few more weeks?
