Stardew Valley is one of the biggest indie releases in recent memory, and many fans are anticipating the next update. As the game celebrates its eight birthday, the developer gives word on when the next patch will be releasing.

PC first, then console

In a recent post on X, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has been thanking fans for continuing to support Stardew Valley over the years. Alongside this, they’ve also announced that version 1.6 will be rolling out on March 19.

This will be for the PC version of the game. The post goes on to say that the console and mobile updates will “follow as soon as possible.” As of now, it can’t be said when they’ll be launching.

Barone then goes on to say how the game is “thriving more than ever,” with over 30 million copies sold.

Recently, a Stardew Valley concert went on tour on a worldwide scale. The show brings the game’s musical score to a live audience, played by an orchestra. Shows are being held in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, though tickets are selling out.

Released on February 26, 2016, Stardew Valley has become a phenomenal hit. Noted for its retro and colorful visuals, its relaxing gameplay, and its plethora of content, it continues to draw in audiences to this day.

It currently has a review score of “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam. Combined with it being 50% off for the next few hours, Stardew has managed to rocket up the Steam Top Sellers charts, where it’s sitting at the number eight spot at the time of writing.
