Shafter implements ‘Code Red’ emergency alert system for residents
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The City of Shafter has unveiled a new alert notification system called “Code Red” for city residents.
The City said “Code Red” will allow officials to quickly deliver emergency and non-emergency notifications to targeted areas by phone call, text, email or the free mobile alert app.
To sign up, all you need to do is text “ShafterAlerts,” with no spaces, to 24639.
