For centuries, old white men have been prominently featured on currencies of countries across the world. And as I recently learned on a trip abroad, Scotland is no exception.

Take, for instance, the Scottish £5 bill, featuring famed Scottish biologist, pharmacologist, and botanist Sir Alexander Fleming.
