Separated at Birth: The Man on Scotland’s £20 Bill and Grumpy Cat
For centuries, old white men have been prominently featured on currencies of countries across the world. And as I recently learned on a trip abroad, Scotland is no exception.
Take, for instance, the Scottish £5 bill, featuring famed Scottish biologist, pharmacologist, and botanist Sir Alexander Fleming.
And then there’s Scottish poet Robert Burns, who’s featured on the £10 note.

Finally, there’s famed warrior Robert the Bruce, who sits upon the £20 bill.
Wait a second … does that guy look familiar?
Look closer …
Ah, that’s it!

It’s Internet hero Grumpy Cat! Scotland’s really on to something here.
For those wondering: No, the Scottish £50 note does not feature the Shiba Inu from the Doge meme.
