Unleash the awesome 4K video capability of the Droid Turbo
4K video is here for a reason -- it's far superior than any other format available. If you're not sure what 4K video is, let me tell you. It's awesome, that's what it is. Technically, 4K refers to a display device or content having horizontal resolution on the order of 4,000 pixels. That's four times higher resolution than the standard 1080p. That means your videos of your office party, that concert, or your baby's first steps will be awesome on a magnitude of four times standard awesome.
You get the idea.
Fortunately, the Droid Turbo can shoot video in the wonderful new standard. It's actually quite simple to do, once you know where to look. But before I demonstrate how to shoot video in 4K, you need to understand one very important thing -- those 4K videos are going to take up a significant amount of space on your device. So, you want to choose this resolution wisely. Don't shoot every video in 4K, or your phone is going to run out of room. You also need to know that only the rear-facing camera can shoot in 4K. You can't use the "selfie cam" in 4K. Finally, this only works with the built-in camera. You can't shoot in 4K with Google's Camera (or any other third-party camera).
So, how do you shoot in 4K? Here's how:
Open the camera app
Right-swipe from the left screen
Tap the video icon
Select Ultra HD (4K)
Tap OK
Start filming
Once you're done, you might want to make sure to switch the resolution back to 1080p, so you're not always shooting in 4K and eating up storage.
