Samsung Galaxy S6 Rumored to Launch in January
Samsung's new Galaxy S phones typically debut at Mobile World Congress every year, but the smartphone giant might not be able to wait that long to spill its next secret. A new rumor suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S6 will debut at CES 2015 in January, which would ignite the hype train for the new handset earlier than expected.
According to GSM Arena, analysts told Korean News source Chosun Biz that the S6 may debut sometime between Jan. 6 and 9, which happen to be the official dates of CES 2015 in Las Vegas. This non-traditional release date could mark the debut of the most non-traditional Galaxy yet, as the new smartphone is rumored to arrive in a curved-screen variant inspired by the company's recent Note Edge phablet.

Other rumored Galaxy S5 features include a 16-MP rear camera, super-fast CAT 10 LTE technology and a 5.5-inch, 2560 x 1440 quad HD display, the latter of which would mark the biggest Galaxy S yet. The smartphone is rumored to pack a 64-bit octa-core Exynos or Snapdragon 810 processor, which could potentially rival Apple's 64-bit A8 CPU.
A recently leaked image of a purported Galaxy S6 shows a white front panel with the same home and capacitive buttons as the S5, though with a bezel that's strikingly slim on the left and right edges. The display also seems to be a bit thinner and taller than that of its predecessor.
An early Galaxy S6 launch could help boost Samsung, a company that admitted to slowing smartphone sales earlier this year. If the rumors hold up, we'll have official details on the S6 in less than a month, so stay tuned for any official announcements.
