Major Galaxy Note 5 details revealed in new report
Phablet fans should be absolutely pumped up for the upcoming release of the Galaxy Note 5, especially since the release of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge this year have shown Samsung has finally honed its design chops. SamMobile has come out with some fresh details about the Note 5 on a new report today that give us a better idea of the device’s specifications and when it will be released.

When it comes to the release date, SamMobile dispels the rumor we heard earlier this week that Samsung would launch the device in July to get ahead of Apple’s expected iPhone 6s Plus launch this September. Instead, Samsung is planning to unveil the Note 5 at IFA 2015 in Berlin, just as we expected it to do based on past precedent.
When it comes to specs, the publication informs us the Note 5 will likely feature “a 2K or a 4K Super AMOLED flat display, an updated octa-core Exynos 7422 processor, and the traditional S Pen.” None of this is particularly surprising, although a 4K display would represent a huge upgrade from the Galaxy S6’s display, which had a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.
SamMobile also has some details on another phone Samsung is working on that’s codenamed “Project Zero 2″ that’s described as a larger version of the Galaxy S6 edge, although not a full-blown phablet like the Note 5 since it will lack S Pen support. To read the full report, click here.
