Millennials have been much maligned.
Oh, who am I trying to fool today? Millennials have contributed quite a lot to being maligned, but it's not all their fault.
After all, millennials -- those born roughly between 1980 and 1999 -- are far more interested in saving the world than is the average human. It's just that their interest in it might more fully be described as self-interest.
You have a chance, though, should you feel millennials might be reptiles from another planet, to see that they actually are.
For there's currently an extension for Google's Chrome browser that turns the word "millennial" into the, for some, more accurate "snake people."
Please don't ask why people create things like this (not yet, at least). Instead, please bathe in the glory of reading headlines such as this from The New York Times: "Dear Snake People, We're Sorry."
I was also itching to have this headline attributed to this column: "Almost half of snake people tweet while they eat, survey says."

Or even the evocative "Most snake people OK taking confidential files home."
This slippery extension was created by designer Eric Bailey from Boston. He told the Huffington Post: "It started off as a joke to myself. I was like 'Who the hell would want this?'"
I fear a lot of people would, Eric. It's a market segment I would describe as "everyone but millennials, no, wait, quite a few of those too."
Bailey is 32, which makes him a snake person himself.
We do adore our psychology here at Technically Incorrect. So one must ask, as every shrink would: was this, deep down, an act of self-loathing? Have we reached the point where snake people wish to shed their skin and admit who they really are?
The thought rattles the mind in such an adorable way.
