Did Apple just accidentally leak the ‘iPhone 6c?’

One of the more intriguing rumors we’ve heard this year has been that Apple is planning to release a new four-inch iPhone model this year for people who still prefer smaller devices. While there has been no consensus over whether Apple will launch a completely new 4-inch iPhone this year, a new leak suggests that we’re going to at least see an updated version of the iPhone 5c sometime soon.

Via Reddit, it seems that in a webpage for its new iPhone Lightning dock, Apple has posted a picture of an iPhone 5c model that features a Touch ID sensor. Here is the device in question:

So yes, it clearly looks like this device features an iPhone 6-style Touch ID sensor that wasn’t present on the original iPhone 5c. It also seems at first glance to have slightly slimmer side bezels, although we admit that we may just be imagining the difference.

The question is whether this is an actual next-generation iPhone 5c model or if Apple merely cobbled together a quick Photoshop to give its colorful iPhone a more modern look. All the same, if Apple does release a new four-inch smartphone, we do imagine it will come with a Touch ID sensor, so this is well within the realm of possibility.
