Buying the Galaxy Note 5? Here’s a crucial tip you should know
Are you planning to buy a Galaxy Note 5? If so then the most important thing you’ll want to know — aside from the correct way to insert its newly redesigned S Pen — will be how to reenable a key feature that will help improve your multitasking experience.

The issue here is that the Galaxy Note 5’s TouchWiz overlay will close down apps completely when you have another app open instead of letting the other app run in the background. This was designed to deliver stronger battery life, but it’s also unintentionally hurting users’ ability to multitask effectively on their phones.
Thankfully, PhoneArena has a fix for us, although it’s not a quick one and will require you to make some modifications to your device. Here it is in full:
1. Install the build.prop editor app from Google Play (link).
2. Go to the #DHA Properties part and change the following entries’ values like this:
ro.config.dha_cached_max=12
ro.config.dha_empty_max=363. Add the following lines below these entries:
ro.config.dha_th_rate=2.3
ro.config.dha_lmk_scale=0.545
ro.config.sdha_apps_bg_max=70
ro.config.sdha_apps_bg_min=84. Finally, delete the following four lines from the build.prop file:
ro.config.dha_cached_max=
ro.config.dha_empty_max=
ro.config.dha_th_rate=
ro.config.dha_lmk_scale=5. Save the changes and reboot your Note5. Now, the phablet shouldn’t be closing tasks so aggressively.
As with everything, we imagine that this approach has tradeoffs, such as potentially reduced battery life on the device. But if you like having multiple apps open at once on the Note 5 and you don’t want to constantly have to reopen them, this might be a method worth trying.
