Proposed plan could cut six majors at WVU Tech

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Six majors currently offered at West Virginia University Institute of Technology could be cut. The WVU Board of Governors will vote in June of 2024 on whether to keep or cut the programs.

Faculty members made the recommendations for the majors, and a panel later reviewed them, according to data at the WVU-Tech website.

Jennifer Wood, a spokeswoman for WVU Tech, said on Friday, April 19, 2024, that the proposed plan would not cut personnel.
