Preview the 74 New Emoji Set to Hit Your Phone This Year

Last week the Unicode Consortium announced 36 new emoji candidates for its 9.0 release, which could be adopted by mobile device and computer operating system makers as early as mid-2016.

The above slideshow features the Emojipedia mockup of all 74 of the upcoming 9.0 emoji characters, some of which were announced last September. These emoji, if eventually integrated into iPhone and/or Android, will of course appear on your phone in whatever manner Apple or Google chooses to render them. But here’s hoping this early preview gets you excited for some fresh emoji all the same.
