President Obama Reads Mean Tweets on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'
All presidents suffer indignities.
Twitter merely gives an additional, especially shrill outlet for those indignities to surface.
So last night President Obama thought he’d offer a tiny glimpse into the invective that’s tossed his way every day on the media’s favorite medium. The glimpse came courtesy of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
They mock his gray hair. Because, well, he’s not worried about anything, is he?
They want to send him to a golf course halfway around the world and leave him there — something the president thinks might not be a bad idea at all.
It’s certainly his fault that Coors Light seems far more expensive these days. And then there are the jeans he wears. You know, THOSE jeans.
I just took a small detour to the President’s Twitter feed.
In just seconds of browsing there, I saw him described as a liar, a poor leader, a “corrupt teleprompter reader” and “the biggest…racist there is.”
So perhaps his staff decided to choose some of the milder criticisms for TV consumption.
Twitter really does bring out the finest in humanity.
