Playstation and Puma Are Releasing a Two-Pack of Sneakers This Week

Puma has announced a new collaborator in Playstation, and their relationship will be christened this week with the release of two sneakers as part of a larger capsule.

Both the Suede and the RS-X take after the original Playstation console with grey-dominant color schemes. The former model features a translucent sole with grey to blue gradient, and if you look closer at the grey suede sidewalls you’ll see Playstation’s button symbols debossed into the fabric. These marks repeat for a special tongue tag and hang tag, while the cat logo on the heel takes on an icy blue look to match the sole.

The RS-X features the same gradient on its outsole and quarter panels, and while its grey paneling is largely plain, the button symbols are cut out on the lateral toe tip. The same tongue tag and hangtag are also included with this sneaker, and if you flip the shoe over you can make out the circle, square, triangle and X beneath the outsole. Both sneakers also come packaged in special box designed to look like what Playstation consoles typically arrive in.

In addition to the sneakers, which are available in adult and kids sizing, an accompanying apparel capsule includes a hoodie, track jacket, shorts and technical cap.

Playstation used to release sneakers with Nike semi-regularly, including yearly editions of Paul George’s signature sneaker and a three-way collaboration with Travis Scott on the Dunk Low. The last such release was in 2021, though, and Playstation’s turn to Puma suggests its days with Nike are now over.

The Playstation x Puma Suede and RS-X sneakers will release Thursday, April 18, through Puma’s website, flagship stores and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $100 for the Suede and $120 for the RS-X.
