UPDATE: A reader has informed us that the iPhone PanelPress can be purchased at eTech parts for $299. Happy unbending!

After the release of the iPhone 6 Plus, a mini-scandal broke out after a journalist discovered that, if you applied enough pressure in a certain area on the back of the phone, the device could be bent.

If you’re one of the nine iPhone 6 Plus owners who’s fallen prey to this #bendgate — well, the fix you have been clamoring for may have finally come.

A company called gTool claims its new iPhone PanelPress will straighten you right out.

Shown in the frightening demonstration video below, the PanelPress can apparently unbend your Apple phone with its system of rubber-padded clamps.

The process is not for the timid, because not only will you have to carefully crank away at your brand new and obviously delicate $1,000 smartphone, but you need to first remove its front glass display. That process alone can be a pain. (Though gTool also sells a device that can help you pry phone screens off. How convenient!)

Since we couldn’t find any additional product info or pricing for the PanelPress on any of gTool’s resellers’ sites, we have to guess that this thing has either freshly hit the market or is nothing but an idea at this point. After all, the Vimeo video showing it in action was only posted Wednesday morning.

We would of course feel remiss if we didn’t point out that Yahoo Tech managing editor Rafe Needleman came up with the idea for an iPhone straightener when #bendghazi first hit the news cycle.

Why didn’t he pursue the actual development of a product like PanelPress? He thought it was just too dumb.

No offense, gTool.
