Nintendo Is Rereleasing Duck Hunt on Christmas Day

There are few better ways to spend the holidays than shooting birds — so it’s only natural that Nintendo is bringing its classic Duck Hunt to the Wii U on Dec. 25. The game will be available through the Virtual Console service starting on Christmas Day, and you’ll be able to use a Wii remote in place of the iconic orange-and-gray NES Zapper light gun that worked with the original. It should make a great complement to new Wii U releases like Super Smash Bros. and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

No word on the price, though NES games typically sell for $4.99 through the Virtual Console, which is a small price to pay for reliving a classic — just remember that this is a straight port of the original, so you still can’t shoot the dog.
