More Mercedes-Benz EV charging stations are coming to a Texas Buc-ee’s near you

In a recent development in their partnership, Mercedes-Benz and Buc-ee's are bringing electric vehicle chargers to travel centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Here's what we know.

Electric vehicle chargers coming to Texas Buc-ee's

The first Mercedes-Benz High-Powered EV chargers are currently being installed in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A dozen more will follow throughout the Texas Triangle − a region connected by Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and San Antonio.

The Texas Triangle is home to 68% of all Texans, making it a key area for Texas travel. The introduction of Mercedes Benz EV chargers aims to encourage more interstate travel among Buc-ee's Travel Centers.

How fast are Mercedes-Benz High-Powered EV chargers?

The Mercedes-Benz High-Powered EV chargers, launched in January 2023, use a universal design. In other words, you don't need to have a Mercedes-Benz EV to use the chargers. The premium, fast-charging network is open to all EVs, including those manufactured by Mercedes, Ford, Hyundai and Tesla.

All locations will offer chargers of up to 400 kilowatts, which can charge some EVs from 10% to 80% in under twenty minutes − some of the fastest charging speeds in the industry.

Texas' Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) has set a goal of 10,000 megawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2025.

Mercedes-Benz to add 2,500 chargers nationwide by 2027

The first of Mercedes-Benz EV charging hubs was introduced last November, at the vehicle brand's headquarters in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Mercedes-Benz plans to install 2,500 high-powered chargers at 400 hubs by 2027, its site states.
