How to get a Max free trial is a pressing question for any TV lover or cinephile. With its deep library of shows and movies, Max, formerly known as HBO Max, is our top pick among the best streaming services. Not only does it get HBO originals and new releases from Warner Bros. studios after their theatrical releases, but you get access to decades of shows and movies from numerous networks and studios. You even get live sports right now through the Bleacher Report sports add-on.

When HBO Max first launched in May 2020, it offered a seven-day free trial, making it easy to see for yourself what the fuss is all about. Unfortunately, it looks like Max has stopped offering a free trial. Even worse, it's no longer offering free trials through Amazon Prime Video Channels or Hulu add-ons, which were the last remaining ways to get a few days of Max for free.

However, things change and you may be able to take advantage of a Max free trial soon. So we're still showing you a couple of options for how you may be able to get a Max free trial in the future so you can keep an eye out. That way you can watch the best shows on HBO Max or even see if Max with ads is a smart way to save some money.

Can I get a Max free trial right now?

Right now, Max is not offering a free trial of any length. And while it used to offer a free trial through select partners, it stopped doing that too. At least, that's the case for now.

Still, it is possible that a Max free trial returns sometime down the road in the U.S. or other parts of the world. For instance, if the service wants to get publicity for a high-profile premiere or addition to their library, they might offer a free trial to entice new users.

While there aren't any free trials currently, there are still some ways to get Max for free. You'll need to buy a qualifying product or service first, but once you do they through in a Max subscription for free.

How to get Max free trial via Amazon Prime Video Channels

Amazon Prime customers used to be able to sign up for a seven-day Max free trial through Prime Video Channels. While you currently can't take advantage of the free trial any longer, here are the steps you would need to take.

1. Go to the Amazon's offer page and click "Start your 7-day free trial."

2. On the next page, confirm your details, including billing info. Click "Start your free trial — Pay later."

How to get Max free trial via Hulu

If you are a Hulu subscriber, you used to be able to add on Max and receive a seven-day free trial. While you currently can't take advantage of the free trial any longer, here are the steps you would need to take.

1. Go to Hulu.com and click on your profile icon in the top right corner.

2. Select Account.

3. Scroll down to Your Subscription. Select Manage Add-ons.

4. Click on HBO Max, then select Review Changes.

5. In the next screen, review the changes and select Confirm.
