The new LG C4 OLED TV is already on sale — this probably won’t last long

The best TV deals make even the person writing them up — who already owns the still-functional model from two years ago — thinking about clicking the Buy button. Yes, readers, I might own and like an LG C2 OLED TV, but this LG C4 sale almost made me consider gifting my set to my parents and replacing it with the latest model. And when I think back to how much time I spent tracking the turbulent C2 deals, I’m reminded that this sale probably won’t be around long.

The LG C4’s improved brightness looks to solve one of the pain points facing OLED TV owners: glare. Rated for much higher peak brightness than before, this is a TV worth a glance.
One of the LG OLED TVs we saw at CES 2024, the C4 line is rated for a peak brightness between 1,000 and 1,500 nits — a significant gain on previous models. This is important for me and anyone else who’s felt frustrated by how OLED TVs can often show too much reflection and glare, leading to distraction and time lost micromanaging the light in your room.
We’ve yet to give the LG C4 a full review and test to see how it stacks up to the best TVs, but its output did look promising at CES. Yes, its screen did pick up some light from a nearby TV, but I seriously doubt someone will be watching one TV with another behind them at home. You don’t live on a Best Buy show floor, right?
Brightness isn’t the only big perk of the C4 series, as LG’s also added higher 144Hz refresh rates, which gamers will love to see. This means that fast-moving games will render more smoothly, with fewer artifacts and more clarity.
As for what you’ll do with that extra $200? Well, LG’s SC9S soundbar (which is also $200 off, down to $800) can be mounted to the C4 on a wall to make for a very visually clean setup that boosts your sound.
