Leaked iPhone 7 design could be a big disappointment to some

Any Phone fans who are waiting for a major redesign this year might be disappointed to learn that the iPhone 7 will be very similar to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6. More and more leaks suggest the iPhone 7 series will have the same overall design lines, though certain details will differ. Now, according to new leaks, even the size of the iPhone 7 will be identical to the iPhone 6s.

A fresh design leak appears to reveal the rear metal shell of the handset, complete with measurements.

Obtained by NowhereElse, the French tech site that scored a similar leak in March, the image shows an iPhone housing that measures 138.30 x 67.12 mm. The thickness of the handset isn’t mentioned in this schematic.

You will immediately notice one design change concerning the rear camera. From the looks of it, the rear camera is significantly bigger than the camera on the iPhone 6s. Furthermore, the camera is placed closer to the edge of the handset.

Similar schematics originating from Asia have shown the rear design of the iPhone 7 Plus. The handset is also expected to match the size of the iPhone 6s Plus. But the 5.5-inch device supposedly packs a new dual lens camera on the back.

With four months to go until Apple unveils its 2016 flagship phones, there are plenty of contradicting rumors detailing the handsets. Most of them say the iPhone 7 will lack a headphone jack, but some say that won't be the case. More rumors suggest the phone will be thinner than predecessors, while recent schematics claim it’ll have the same thickness. Finally, recent leaks implied the iPad’s Smart Connector port will be present on the back of the iPhone 7 Plus, while other reports claim that will not be the case.
